Samsung Gear360 Video Quality Comparison

I am trying to record my vlog using Samsung Gear 360(2017).
Here is my first footage. However, sadly its video quality is bad.

Actually it was worse than I thought. Then I found some Gear 360 videos shot by other youtubers. Those had quite good video quality. 

I thought there were something I had to set for recoding 360 video. So I tried to set each 360 video modes. Then recoded videos for test and compared them.

Gear360(2017) Video Recoding Mode

I compared 4069x2048(24fps), 2880x1440(30fps) and 2560x1280(60fps).

Video Recoding Resolution and frame rate

4069 x 2048 / 24fps

2880 x 1440 / 30fps

2560 x 1280 / 60fps

2560 x 1280 / 30fps

1920 x 960 / 30 fps

1440 x 720 / 120fps

Calculate Bit Rate

Max Bit Rate = Width x Height x Frame per Second x 0.15 / 1024

4096x2048(24fps, AAC 48khz): 29491.2 kbps (The highest)
2880x1440(30fps, AAC 48khz): 18225 kbps

2560x1280(60fps, AAC 48khz): 28800 kbps

Cropped Image Quality Comparison

I compared cropped images of the bookshelf.

2560x1280 (60fps)

2880x1440 (30fps)

4096x2048 (24fps)

The winner of the sharpness is 4096x2048(24fps). However, if you shoot with 4096x2048, the color will change. The red color is emphasized.

360 degrees Video Comparison

2560x1280 (60fps)

2880x1440 (30fps)

4096x2048 (24fps)

As you know, the red color is emphasized with 4096x2048.

Nevertheless, the winner of the sharpness is 4096x2048(24fps). This comparison clearly shows that sharpness is closely related to resolution.

2560x1280 (60fps) is a high frame rate, so I think it will be more useful on a dynamic recoding. But the sharpness is really bad. So I am not sure if I will use it. My Jeju Island video was taken by 2560x1280 (60fps). (4096x2048 would have been good...)

4096x2048(24fps) is the best mode of the static recoding, but the red color still bother me. And bit rate is also the highest. By the way, I don't know why 2880x1440(30fps) mode is needed.
